Praise Him...

Well, long time no see...it's been a few days since a good update was posted here. Sorry to my loyal fan-base of about 3. Last time I left you hanging with a little grumbling about life and irony that takes place.

You know the classic phrase that says, "Think before you speak?" Well, in this case I should have "Prayed before I blogged." After grumbling on my blog last week, I went to bed praying about how things were going to work out. Afterward, I came to the conclusion that God really likes to show off.

So my beloved Wendell crashed and burned on Sunday evening. Monday morning I woke up to find that the kitchen table was full of newspaper ads, all concerning cars. My dad sat me down and spelled out some of the options that we might consider (this was a really big shock because he was a very very upset man when I had told him about Wendell, so for him to be so calm and collected and reasonable at this point was amazing). To make a long story short, by the end of Monday I had made my first jump into a real adult life by buying my first car!!! I came home that day driving a 2004 Kia Rio. I no longer have to worry about my engine falling out on the side of the freeway when I drive back and forth to Salem. I'm finally in a car that I have full confidence will get me to my destination safely...it's an amazing feeling and one I haven't had in a very very long time.

On Tuesday of last week I made my second jump into a real adult life by applying for an apartment down in Salem. I found out yesterday that I was ACCEPTED and that I can move in on April 23, the Saturday before graduation.

All I can say is "Praise God!" Praise Him for his faithfulness in the midst of my unfaithfulness. I really do think that God likes to show off.

Amen to showing off, and praise God for providing.
