Irony

My favorite quote (depressing and cynical as it may be) from the movie Bridget Jones' Diary is "It's inevitable that as soon as one area of your life starts going well, another part falls magnificently apart."

This is the story of my life right now.

I know how and can see how God has been blessing me in such amazingly abundant ways lately. Life is GOOD! Graduation is 41 days away, I have a whole new exciting life to look forward to in Salem, I've been planning on apartment searching this week (since it's Spring Break), I'm getting ready for grad school, I have amazing friends in my life, God is awesome!

With all of this going on, however, one thing was going to be of the most help...my '89 Mazda 626. It is the one thing (other than God) that makes a lot of things in my life possible right now. Today my precious Wendell had a turn for the worse. I can't bury him yet, he's still got some life in him...but I would call it car cancer, he's sick, and he probably won't make it much longer. He's been acting up for a while, but nothing too incredibly serious. Well, tonight, a series of things happened.
On top of my right turn signal not working,
One of the windows is broken and will not go back up (just as it starts to rain in Oregon of course),
The heater stopped working (which makes it quite chilly with the window broken as well),
The engine is consistently over-heated,
and whenever I try to gain momentum, the whole car sputters. It's almost as if the car really wants to die, but it just won't give up hope on itself.

Does anybody have a car that runs better than this one they would like to donate to a poor college kid??? Please!?!?!?

Sorry to hear about Wendell. He seemed to be so full of life on Saturday morning. No donation right now, but we can definitely put this out into the world.

I heard the terrible news, that Wendell breathed his last. Too bad, he was a sweet little machine. But I also heard that God is way ahead, answering prayers already. Something about a Wendell II?

when my precious cytoskeleton died, i had to go about 6 months with nothing but a buss pass . . . now we've got Sue-B. she's a beautiful green subaru outback and we love her! no worries, things always work out in the end!

I have been there! You know that! Sorry hun.
